Export coaching · training · speaking

Exporting is not about finding more buyers. It is about getting the basics right first.

I help F&B founders, and the programmes that support them, get export right: pricing, margins, distributors, compliance, shipments and reorders. Led by Yasmin Karim, a Malaysian F&B exporter who built XportStack from real export work, not theory.

I run an export business

I've priced the deals, chased the distributors, and fixed the rejected labels myself.

I built the system, not just slides

XportStack is the export operating system I created and use every week.

Sound familiar?

The things founders tell me

I got buyer interest but I do not know how to quote.
My margin disappears after freight and listing fees.
I do not know what documents I need.
I have distributors but no repeat orders.
I am scared of making export mistakes.
I do not know which market to focus on.

If any of these sound like you, that is exactly what I help with.

This is probably happening to you

Your export price shrinks before you see it

An FOB price can look healthy and still leave less than you think. Your buyer pays international freight and import duties, but you still carry a long list of your own costs. Here is what happens to a RM100 FOB price, before your product cost.

FOB price you quote
RM100
After export packaging, pallets and labelling
RM93
After certificates, testing and documents
RM89
After inland haulage, clearance and port handling
RM82
After bank charges and FX
RM79
After distributor rebates and marketing support
RM71
What reaches you, after payment terms
RM66

Example figures. These are the costs exporters most often leave out. Add them up and a price that looked healthy barely covers the product.

Most export advice starts too late

More buyers do not fix a weak export system

Most founders are told to find buyers, join trade shows, send samples and follow up harder. But if your price is wrong, more buyers create more bad quotes. If your market choice is random, more enquiries create more confusion. If your distributor is unqualified, the first order may be the last. If your label and documents are not ready, the shipment stalls before it starts.

So I do not teach founders to chase every enquiry or to hope a distributor solves everything. I teach the decisions behind a serious export business: price, market, distributor, compliance, shipment and reorders. I call it the Export Decision System.

The system came from real export mistakes

I built a Malaysian F&B brand and started exporting the way many founders do: chasing overseas interest, quoting quickly, saying yes to keep the buyer warm, and figuring out the hard parts later.

Then the lessons arrived. A deal that looked profitable but barely was. A distributor who went quiet after the first order. A label issue that slowed a shipment. A market that looked exciting but did not match the product, the margin or the readiness.

That was when I realised export success is not about finding more buyers. It is about making a handful of decisions properly: price, market, distributor, compliance and shipment. I turned those decisions into a system, used it in my own export business, and built it into XportStack. Now I teach that system through talks, workshops and advisory.

Who this is for

This is for you if export feels harder than it should.

I help F&B founders who want to export but feel stuck on pricing, documents, compliance and distributor follow-up. Together we build a practical export system, so you can quote with confidence, ship correctly and manage buyers without the chaos.

You're preparing your first export order

You need to get pricing, samples, documents, market choice and distributor conversations right the first time.

You already export, but the margins are murky

You want to know whether a deal is actually profitable after freight, duties, rebates and payment terms.

You support F&B founders or SMEs

You need a speaker or trainer who has run real export operations, for your event, cohort or programme.

How I help

Four things I help F&B exporters do

01

Take local F&B brands from domestic to export-ready

02

Grow brands that already export into new markets and better margins

03

Turn distributor leads into confirmed export orders

04

Prepare for trade missions, expos and buyer meetings, including on-ground

The system I teach is the system I built and use.

Most export speakers leave your audience with notes. I help them leave with a working system. Coaching clients don't just learn the playbook, they run it inside XportStack, the export operating system built for F&B brands.

This is not just export training. It is the system behind successful exporting: pricing, market selection, buyer follow-up, distributor management, shipment readiness, compliance and export cash flow.

What I believe

Exporters who succeed don't just chase buyers. They build an export system.

The next generation of Malaysian exporters will not manage export growth with scattered files, random follow-ups and guesswork. They will run export like a system.

FAQ

Questions before you book

Do you help find buyers?

I do not position export as find buyers first. I help founders become buyer-ready, so pricing, market choice, distributor fit, compliance and shipment are clear before serious outreach. More buyers do not fix a weak export system.

Is this just export theory?

No. Every session is built around practical decisions on your own product, with real examples and the same tools inside XportStack that I use to run my own export business.

What makes this different from a normal export talk?

It is taught by someone who runs an export business and built the software around the system behind export growth, not a trainer teaching from slides.

Who do you work with?

F&B founders preparing to export or already exporting, and the organisations that support them: trade agencies, accelerators, chambers and SME programmes.

Can sessions be delivered in English and Bahasa Malaysia?

Yes. Keynotes, workshops and coaching can all be delivered in English or Bahasa Malaysia.

How are fees worked out?

Programmes are priced by format, audience size, preparation, and whether XportStack setup is included. Share your budget range in the enquiry form and I will propose the right format.

Do you travel for events, or can sessions be online?

I am based in Malaysia and available for events locally, regionally and online.

Is this only for first-time exporters?

No. First-time exporters get the fundamentals right, and active exporters use it to fix margins, distributor issues and market expansion.

How do I book or check availability?

Send a short note through the enquiry form with your audience, market and goal. I read every message myself and reply with the right format.
